Our Privacy-First Approach

Convert Eaze was built with the purpose of keeping your files private. When you convert a file through our platform, the conversion takes place on your device through your web browser. We do not upload your files or your converted files to our servers. Your files remain on your device from start to finish, and once you download or close the conversion session, your files are deleted from your device's temporary memory.

Information We Collect

We only collect the information that is necessary for us to provide and enhance our service. Below is the information we collect and the reasons why.

When you sign up for an account using Convert Eaze, we request your name and email address. We will use these details to handle your account, contact you regarding the status of your plan, and assist you when you need help. Your email address will also be used as your login identifier.

We use authentication cookies to ensure that you remain logged into your account as you move around on the Convert Eaze site. These cookies are absolutely necessary for the service to work properly and remember who you are as you move around on the site. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any kind of cookies that track your movements on the internet.

When you upgrade to our paid plan, we process payments securely via PayPal. We do not store your payment card information or financial details on our servers. PayPal handles your payment and gives us only a confirmation that your payment was successful and your plan status. All financial information is stored with PayPal according to their security policy.

If you decide to reach out to us for assistance or provide feedback, you can do so via email or the Help button at the bottom right corner of the window. We will use any information you provide in these support conversations solely for the purpose of assisting you and improving our service based on your feedback.

What We Do not Collect

We also want to be clear about what we do not do. Convert Eaze does not use analytics services to track your usage of our platform. We do not monitor which file types you convert most often, how long your conversions take, or any patterns of usage. We do not collect device information, browser fingerprints, or IP addresses for tracking. We think your conversion activities are nobody else's business.

How We Use Your Information

The data we collect has specific and limited uses. Your email address and name enable us to keep your account and distinguish between free and paid accounts so that we can assign the appropriate conversion limits. We will use your email address to send you important notifications about your account, such as renewals, confirmations, or important updates about our service.

When you contact us through Discord for help or feedback, we use this communication to help fix problems and learn how we can improve Convert Eaze. We might refer to some general themes from feedback to help make development decisions, but we do not share these conversations or refer to specific users.

Data Storage and Security

Your account information is safely stored in our MongoDB database, which is encrypted with industry-standard encryption and access controls. Only authorized team members have access to this database, and they only access it for the purpose of maintaining and improving the service.

Our application is hosted on the Vercel platform, which offers enterprise-grade security features such as encryption, DDoS protection, and security updates. All communication between your browser and our service is encrypted using HTTPS.

Since your files are never leaving your device during the conversion process, they are never at risk of being exposed to the risks of network transmission or the vulnerabilities of server storage. This design inherently shields your file privacy from being compromised, which is not possible by server-based conversion tools.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

We share only minimal information with the necessary service providers to run Convert Eaze. PayPal will receive your payment details if you decide to pay for the premium service, but this is a direct payment between you and PayPal according to their privacy policy. MongoDB and Vercel host our database and application infrastructure, respectively, and they will have access to your account information only to the extent necessary to provide their hosting services to us under strict confidentiality agreements.

However, we may share your information if it is required by law, for example, in response to a valid court order or subpoena, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.

International Data Transfers

Convert Eaze is available to users worldwide. As we rely on service providers such as MongoDB and Vercel that are global, your account information may be transmitted to and stored in foreign countries. When we transmit information internationally, we ensure that adequate measures are taken to protect your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

We will retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you decide to delete your account, we will delete your personal information from our active database within thirty days. However, some information may remain in a backup system for a short period of time, but it will not be used for any operational purposes.

However, payment records that relate to your plan may be retained for a longer period as required for accounting and tax purposes, but these records are kept confidential.

Your Privacy Rights

You have meaningful control over your information. You can view your account information at any time by logging into the Convert Eaze system. If you notice that there is information that is not accurate or complete, you can go ahead and make the changes.

If you would like to delete your account and all personal information associated with it, you can reach out to us via email, and we will take care of it as soon as possible. Please be aware that some information may need to be retained for legal purposes.

You have the right to object to our processing of your information or to request that we restrict certain uses of your data. If you have concerns about how we handle your information, we encourage you to contact us so we can address them directly.

Children's Privacy

Convert Eaze is not meant for anyone under the age of thirteen. We do not collect information from children under the age of thirteen. If we find out that we have collected information from a child under the age of thirteen, we will delete the information immediately. If you believe that a child has provided us with their information, please contact us immediately via email.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

As Convert Eaze continues to grow and expand its functionality, we may be required to revise this Privacy Policy from time to time in order to reflect these changes. When we do make significant revisions to this Privacy Policy, we will alert you to these changes via email at the address you have associated with your account or through a prominent notice on our website.

The date of last revision of the Privacy Policy is indicated at the top of this document. Your continued use of Convert Eaze after the date of last revision constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
